PAXXON Spring Tyre Maintenance Guide: Key Checks to Prevent Blowouts and Uneven Wear

As temperatures rise in spring, tire conditions will also change accordingly. Under the rainy weather, the operating conditions for tires become more complex. Therefore, tire maintenance must be more precise and standardized.

The core of spring tire maintenance can be summarized in two key points: preventing blowouts and uneven wear. Performing the following three checks will help ensure driving safety.

1. Tire Pressure Check

Check tire pressure regularly: Adjust it according to the recommended pressure standards by inflating or deflating as needed. Avoid excessively high or low tire pressure, which may lead to blowout risks or abnormal wear.

2. Tread Wear Check

Europe has clear regulations on tire tread depth, generally requiring a minimum of 1.6 mm. Meanwhile, road inspections are frequent. Fleets should closely monitor wear indicators; tires must be replaced once the tread is level with these indicators to avoid skidding risks on rainy days.

3. Cleaning and Wheel Alignment

Regularly remove stones embedded in the tread to prevent them from penetrating deeper and damaging the tire casing. It is recommended to have a four-wheel alignment performed in spring. If uneven one-sided wear or steering pull occurs, adjustments should be made immediately to avoid accelerated tire deterioration.

As spring is the peak freight season in Europe, PAXXON advises fleets to conduct a thorough inspection and optimization of tire conditions before starting intensive operations. This ensures vehicles are always road-ready in optimal condition, providing solid support for safety and efficiency.
